Keep Your Eyes on Him!
Sunday we had plans to meet with one of our pastors for some guidance with our adoption.Schedules got crossed and the meeting didn’t take place. We rescheduled and went on to preaching with the kids. We hadn’t been seated for 5 minutes when I complete realized why this meeting didn’t take place… the message Pastor David was preaching was meant for us to hear. Yes, I just have to share:
Lesson 1:
Most have heard of the story of how Jesus feeds a crowd of
Five thousand with five loafs of bread and two fish.
I know I have heard it hundreds of times…
But this night,
The pastor pointed out something I had never caught before:
But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.”
Matthew 14:16
David pointed out how Jesus asked the disciples to do something
They did not have the resources to do.
They did not have the resources to feed five thousand yet Jesus tells them to do it.
Because they acted in obedience to Christ, 5,000 people were feed that day
All from 5 loafs of bread and 2 fish.
Wow.
The Lord called us to adopt this child and yet we do not have the resources to get him home.
What great joy it is
To know that because we are acting in obedience to Him
He will provide the resources!
Not only is He supplying our needs
He is using us to meet the needs in others.
How awesome is He!
Lesson 2:
Another familiar story- Jesus walks on water
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”
Matthew 14:30
Yes, as soon as Peter takes his eyes of Jesus and focuses on the problem (the wind and the waves)
He SINKS!
Hello, when will we learn?
When we take our eyes off Jesus we SINK!
For us it has been sinking into a pity party.
I have to admit the adoption process (both times)
Have been very isolating for us.
We have struggled with what to do or how to handle some difficult situations.
We have struggled with hurt feelings and some very strong emotions.
We have spent much time in prayer
Seeking the Lord and asking for wisdom and discernment in it all.
We have often felt defeated.
This night was a strong reminder
To keep our eyes on Him.
To those who are in the process and struggling with funding:
To those who are in the process and dealing with
lack of understanding and compassion from loved ones:
To those of you in the process and are facing racism
from loved ones or from strangers:
KEEP YOUR EYES ON HIM
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,
“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Flying on an Airplane
We show Dylan
(our two year old)
(our two year old)
pictures of his future brother
and he always gets really excited
he starts to talk really fast
and it so cute...
Now would be the perfect time for a video
if I was technologically savvy
but I'm not:(
He starts out with
"Baby Nate"
"We gonna get on an airplane
and we gonna go get Baby Nate!"
"I'm going to share my toys with him!"
It really is precious.
So this morning on the way to preschool
He says
"I wanna get on an airplane and see Baby Jesus!"
How sweet.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
James 1:17

He Does It AGAIN!!
I had the best quiet time with the Lord
this morning that just left my heart
overflowing with JOY!
I had taken off work today
because I knew my paperwork was on its way
and I needed to sign for it.
Excited it was coming but
knew we still didn't have the money
for the next step in the process.
I wasn't going to worry.
It's all in His time
not mine.
I was just going to wait.
I received my package
around 3:30pm today!
I opened it up
and
the check I sent to pay for it
was still sitting on top!
Chad's dear cousin
PAID THE BILL!
Not only did she pay
she paid for it to be expressed
which is why
we received our paperwork
today
vs.
next week!
I am humbled yet again.
I am so thankful I serve a mighty God
Thank you
Sweet Jesus!
Thank you for your provision
Thank you for giving me
a heart for the orphans
Thank you for the words you gave me this morning in our quiet time:
What no eye has seen,
Nor ear hear,
Nor the heart of man imagined,
What God has prepared
For those who love Him
1 Corinthians 2:9
Praise your Holy Name!

A Rockin' New Look:)
Before
I love that he loves books!
After
So what do you think?
Do you like it long or short?
I am sure he will enjoy it short as the
hot and sticky summer
is approaching fast!

Trucking Along
Wow! We are trucking right alongJ
We received our Advanced Approval from CIS a couple of days ago!
Waiting for our authentication from the state before we send our paperwork to the Chinese Consulate in Houston, TX
The cost for this will be: $345
My husband’s cousin drives past the Chinese Consulate everyday on the way to work. She was willing to hand deliver our paperwork saving us $200 in courier fees! Thank you so, so much Brandi!
Once this step is done we will send it to our agency to be translated and sent to China
Also known as DTC!!!
I think that's how it all works!
This will cost: $800 (I think!)
We are working hard and stretching every dime!
We are $300 away from being able to complete this step but I trust in the Lord and in His provision.
We have a long way to go: $17,000
I know people shake their heads at us and think we are crazy
And my response to that is:
“The Lord will provide”
I believe it with all my heart.
He called us to this boy
He will provide and His name will be made great in the process.
Let’s pray this boy home!
My little guy when he arrived at AOW!
Goodness what a little lot of lovin' can do!
He has grown so much over the last 8 months or so!
